so, here’s the deal: my laptop’s hard drive died!!
on one hand i’m sad that my wacom penabled, pressure-sensitive tablet PC is dying after only a year. on the other hand, it was really inevitable that it would crap out around now, with the fact that it gets hot enough to burn you on the bottom and the fan is constantly shrieking. (if you’re curious, it’s a Fujitsu Lifebook T2010)
so now, to work around the failed hard drive, i’m running linux mint on a usb stick. since my beloved sai has an ongoing problem with linux and pressure sensitivity i went looking for other programs to doodle with while i contemplate how to survive until i can get a new laptop.
i found a program called pinta which is my dream come true: a straight-up shameless clone of the windows-only paint.net for linux and mac. it’s not full-featured by any means (being paint.net) but it gets the job done when i need to scribble a thing!
